Located on the Macleay River, Kempsey is a large and important rural centre. The Kempsey Shire is blessed with stunning beauty attracting many visitors and new residents alike. Kempsey is home to the famous Akubra Hat and is also the birth place of Slim Dusty.

The town's tourist information office and historical museum are located in the interesting Kempsey cultural centre, a building designed by the famous architect Glenn Murcutt. It is a distinctive Australian building and is well worth stopping and inspecting. It is located in a shady and pleasant park at the southern end of town.

We are situated on the River, and are a 10 minute walk via a paved footpath to the centre of Kempsey or 5 minutes to shopping. Enjoy fishing in the Macleay River from our jetty, or relax by the pool. We are only 35 minutes from Port Macquarie, or a short drive to excellent fishing, diving and surfing at South West Rocks, Crescent Head and Hat Head.
